Tow behind motorcycle trailers (ATV as well) fall into a couple of categories. You can be looking for a trailer to carry your bikes and ATVs to a destination, or you can be looking to pick up a trailer to tow behind your bike or ATV to carry extra gear.

This is the first in a series of articles that will give you some ideas on purchasing the right trailer for your needs. Here we will start off with some thoughts for you to consider in terms of your needs for a tow behind trailer. Please let me know if you are looking for info that I’m missing, but also stay tuned for additional articles that will explore the various other scenarios- trailers to tow behind your bike/atv, enclosed or open, and options that you can install that will make your trailer feel like a garage away from home.

There are unique needs in all of your trailers so lets take a look at some of them. If you are looking at a trailer to pull your toys to a destination then you have some unique considerations. One of the first things to consider is your tow vehicle. It will be spelled out in you owners manual as to the towing capacity of your vehicle. This is a critical figure to get. There is no sense in getting the fanciest and most option laden trailer if your truck can’t tow it.

Next consider the weather conditions that you will be using your trailer in. If you find that you are towing in a relatively warm dry climate than you don’t need to consider such things as a/c or heat. You would want to consider these types of options if you plan on using your trailer at an event where it will double as your portable garage as well.

Security is another concern. You have a significant investment in your bikes and ATVs. It is always a good idea to protect your investments. This opens up two options-open trailer or enclosed. Obviously the enclosed trailer will provide a greater level of security because you can not only conceal your gear and equipment, but you can then also lock doors and also install a security system that will alert you if some is messing with your stuff- The alarm will automatically call your cell phone.

Trailer storage is another thing to consider. When your not using your trailer it is important that you have a place to conveniently store it and have easy access to it. Many neighborhood HOA- homeowner associations- have very clear and stringent guidelines when it comes to parking and storing trailers. You do not want to make a major investment in the ultimate trailer only to have it become either a neighborhood nuisance or a financial liability once its towed off.

One thing to think about in this instance is using a self-storage facility that is in your neighborhood. This is a great opportunity to have easy access to your trailer without worrying about HOA issues or constantly shuffling your cars and other toys around it.

I hope that this will get you thinking about your needs in a trailer. Please give a lot of thought to such purchase-remember- It is better to do the research and buy the right trailer for your needs.

Last week I wanted to do something productive on the web. I signed up for a Google Alert to notify me about special sales, special offers, and great deals Kawasaki ATV parts online. This turned out to be a lesson in futility. Google Alerts is a great tool for the most part. It allows all of the news concerning any topic I choose to get sent to my inbox on a daily basis. This was a great idea to do conceptually but overall it was a big pain in the neck.

The first day I got a lot of low level content that related to Kawasaki in my inbox. These were in the form of spam blogs and link farms. I guess Google bots will pick up anything with my desired keyword in it. I wanted to learn more about Kawasaki ATV parts but what I got was a lot of junk. Most of the content I got was wimpy web pages or blog pages that were splattered with advertisements about motorsports. Sometimes I would get something that pertained to my interests. But most of the time I was majorly disappointed in the level of garbage web content that had very little content on it that had anything to do with Kawasaki.

I was disappointed. Day two was a little better. I didn’t get a whole lot about my parts information but I got a lot of police logs about stolen Kawasaki bikes in Miami and stolen merchandise from dealerships. Sometimes I got information about some vandals in Florida who demolished some parked racing bikes at a dealership. I wondered if I would ever get any good information about 2010 parts. I kept a smile on my face and kept hoping for the best.

Day three was a little better. I got some news about Kawasaki parts on Ebay but I found most of them to be overpriced. Based on what I had experienced before I was a little more hopeful and had high expectations. At least this time I was heading in the right direction.

Whenever I got news from Kawasaki the ads along my screen picked up on my keywords and it pulled up all sorts of stuff that was related to Kawasaki. I was using Gmail and these ads were delivered through Google ad words. A lot of these products were mere shots in the dark. I was not too keen in a lot of these special and unique offers. They included things like legal issues, motorcycle accidents, lawsuit information and other sports accident related material. There was another add for 70% off of police auctions.

I didn’t learn a whole heck of a lot about Kawasaki ATV parts but I did get a lesson in fishing for the wrong info. Google does a great job at throwing a lot of keyword driven content in your inbox but a lot of it wasn’t worth reading. It was like fishing in an ocean and pulling up boots and license plates. I keep hoping that I will get better content delivered to me. For the most part, this is a good strategy when you want to research a certain topic.

Motorcyclists begin years ago to band together and ride. The number of bikers who have formed clubs and ride just for pleasure and camaraderie is staggering. 99% of bikers today ride just because. Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Honda, Indian and Victory are just a few of the motorcycle manufacturers who sell to all walks of life. Weekend poker runs have become very popular and in some cases profitable. Fashioned after the card game the event could be 5 card, 7 card or any number of cards the organizer decides to use. The riders will meet at the starting location to sign up and pay the entry fee. The location of each poker stop is pre-determined by the organizer and is usually an eatery or a place to indulge in refreshments. Depending on the size of the event it could cost each rider $5.00 up. The rides have become so popular they are advertised in local newspapers, television and of course the popular biker magazines like “Born To Ride”. Most charitable organizations have figured out that bikers are very generous and jump at an opportunity to affiliate.

A biker planning to attend a run could expect the following:

* Group meets at a designated staging area (most runs are open so anyone can attend)

* Sign up and pay the entry fee (some runs allow more than one hand per person)

* Choose a card from the deck spread out face down on the table

* Your card is logged next to your name as the first in your hand and then returned to the pile for the next participant

* Get the list of designated stops to play the next hand (in case you get separated)

* The organizer will advise what time the participants will be leaving and where the next stop is

* The group will have a lead bike and depending on the size, several designated participants who will act as traffic control (larger runs may require police escorts who will block intersections to keep the riders safe and allow the participants to stay together

* At each stop a new card is drawn and logged as your playing hand

* Several hands are reserved for the last stop and the winners will be determined by their best hands. The pot will be split with the highest hand receiving the most

There are many different types of poker runs some like this one while others are 100% for charity.

Riding motorcycles is a passion fueled by the wind, sun, rain and cold. The term “Biker” brings to mind confidence with style. Saddlebags packed with sunscreen, biker jacket, biker vest, motorcycle chaps, rain suit and tool bag, are the answers for a long tour needed for all weather. The right motorcycle clothes at http://www.cool-riders.com speaks loud and clear “This rider has what it takes to be in control”.
People from a non-biking background tend to criticise the 50cc motorbike for being underpowered, girly and like a toy, but this is a very shallow view. This article aims to turn those people into 50cc bike lovers! All its main advantages are listed below, hopefully they are all things you agree with.

Low Running Costs

For most people buying a 50cc motor bike, cost is factor. As a rough guide, the smaller the engine, the lower the cost and this means that 50 cc motorbikes are often the cheapest to purchase. 50 cc motor bikes use a lot less fuel to run than bikes with larger engines and perform very well in mile per gallon (MPG) comparison charts making them popular with young drivers.

Cheap Insurance

As with cars, motor bikes are divided into insurance groups relevant to the power they have and the speed they can travel. The logic behind this is the slower you can drive, the less likely you are to have an accident which is likely to incur a insurance claim. 50cc bikes are the least powerful bike on the market so are in a low insurance group and have very low insurance costs.

Age

In a lot of countries including the UK it’s possible to drive a 50 cc motor bike or scooter two year before it’s possible to drive a full powered bike. As a result a lot of youngsters use the smaller bikes to learn their basic road craft.

Environmentally Friendly

As mentioned previously, 50cc motor cycles consume a lot less petrol than bikes with large engines and are therefore are a lot less harmful to the environment.

Safety

Driving at slower speeds decreases the chance of accident and this has been proven time and time again. Also, the slower you drive the less likely you are to sustain serious injury if you were to crash.

Conclusion

Due to their image, 50cc motor bikes are not for everyone but if you’re a youngster, poor or want to make your fist steps in to bike riding then you will not be disappointed with a 50cc bike.

Tom Shurville is a keen motor bike rider and has his own 50cc motor bike. He also specialises in digital marketing and works closely with Hertfordshire SEO agency Distinctly Digital

Nowadays, the number of people who are looking for ways they can be of help to the environment is growing. And because of this, there are several people who have seen how modern lifestyles have strongly affected the planet. Everyone is now aware how their cars have caused problems which are related to nature. For this reason, many are choosing to buy 50cc scooters instead of cars. Also, many are opting to walk or even bike just so they can do their share in saving our dying environment.

Another reason why scooters are being sought is that even if you commute, they are still an expensive alternative once you have accumulated your monthly expenses. It does not even help that you have to endure a long wait for the next train. And there is also a big chance that that next train is already full of people. So during the rush hour, you might need to stand on your way home. Your next option then is to take the bus. But this too does not have any better benefit like the train. And if have a night time job, the two options mentioned are not capable of helping you. For this reason, many people are buying mopeds and scooters.

The difference between a moped and a scooter is that the moped has a smaller engine and a slower power capacity. Such transportation methods only have a top speed capability of around 30-35 miles per hour. This transportation device physically looks just like a bicycle. In fact, a lot of mopeds were initially built as bikes but have been further equipped by a motor running under 50cc. There are also some mopeds which can seat more than one rider.

If you are thinking of buying mopeds in order for you to do your part in helping save this environment, you are not obliged to buy an expensive or even a powerful one. Since mopeds are normally cheap, you can already own one with just some hundred dollars. And unlike cars, this money you spend to buy a moped will be the only biggest sum of money which you need to produce. This means you no longer have to spend a lot of money on gas anymore. You have also avoided the disadvantages of commuting.

When you have bought one of the 50cc scooters you are eyeing on, you will then see the benefits of it. You no longer have to wait in line for the next jam packed train or have to keep enduring the several bus stops it will take. You do not even have to be stuck in traffic jams. By owning a moped, you have done a small share in making sure the environment is safe.

When looking for motocross accessories and kit there are hundreds of different types of motocross accessory available from a multitude of suppliers. It can be very difficult to decide what items to put your trust in as they are bought to protect vital body parts they have to be right!

I think when it comes to buying an accessory to keep you safe when riding in such a dangerous sport it is best for you to spend the most you can afford at the time at all times. Generally in life you get what you pay for therefore usually the more you spend the better the quality of the item. When you are looking for accessories that protect vital body parts like your head, neck, back, arms and legs it is important that the accessory you have chosen is of the best quality.

How do you choose the items to make sure your not paying over the odds?

The safest way is go to a reputable dealer of motocross accessories and ask lots of questions if you ever struggle to find the right advice the best advice I could give you is stick to brand names you have heard of and know are good quality and you won’t go to far wrong. If you want another good source of advice pop along to you local motocross event and speak to the people who are racing. Most of them will be very happy to give new people to the sport all the help and advice they can to keep you safe whilst riding. Also most motocross organisations will run monthly club members meetings in the evenings to discuss the activities of the motocross club and they are happy for people to attend and ask questions of their members. Motocross is one big family and we are all happy to welcome new members with open arms.

Nowadays it’s not a big problem to find cool, good-looking protective motorcycle clothing at a reasonable price. A person can find name brand items at a cost of $400 – $500 and be pretty happy about that. But such clothing can turn out to be not enough protective and providing special protection of the most important parts of the body.

You are to be very careful and extremely attentive while choosing it. Notice, that classic motorbike leathers with special kevlar inserts are considered to be the best kind of protective motorcycle clothing. And the clothing by not well-known brands is usually sold at a reasonable price, but can be quite as protective as expensive one by famous producers.

A person should also understand, that the protective motorcycle clothing should fit him (her) like a second skin, because that will provide better protection in case of fall or other accident. And by the way, it’s much warmer, when protective clothing is tight and doesn’t let the cold wind under. Also remember, that you will wear some additional clothes when it’s cold.

Due to that don’t forget to bring the warm winter sweater (or pullover) with you and put it on when trying on your protective motorcycle clothing. If you have not brought warm things with you, then take care of one extremely important thing – the protective clothing’s size. Measure your chest around its largest part with the use of cloth tape measure and try on the clothing of the next closest size. For example, if your size is 46 inch, give a try to 48 size – that is the thing that will fir you right.

So, the final advice is, not depending on the kind of protective motorcycle clothing you buy, be very careful when choosing it, because it is the thing to save your health on the road.

When buying protective motorcycle clothing, try to get as more information about it as possible in order to buy the motorbike leathers, that will really suit you.

Are you looking for the perfect gift for that fellow biker but you’re just not sure what to get him or her? Well chances are they may be in need of a nice new motorcycle jacket that they can wear on the long trips that they take, or they can wear if they’re just cruising around town. Motorcycle jackets make great gifts for just about anyone that loves wearing leather for a number of reasons.

One of the reasons motorcycle jackets make great gifts is because just about every motorcyclist needs one to keep them protected while on the road and also to keep them warm in cooler temperatures. Motorcycle jackets are made of thick leather which can stand up to road scraping and can help protect the rider in the event of an accident. They will not help save lives in major accidents, but they will greatly reduce the likelihood of getting road rash and other painful cuts to the areas that are covered by the jackets. They also help protect the rider from dirt and debris that may be flying around in the air while the rider is on the motorcycle. If no jacket is worn, then the rider is more vulnerable to being hit by dirt and debris that may be present.

Another reason that motorcycle jackets make great gifts is because every biker loves leather gear. Leather gear has always been the signature apparel item for bikers around the world and it helps make the biker appearance stand out. Some great leather gifts include jackets, gloves, pants, chaps, boots, saddlebags, vests, hats, and more. For those that are looking to dress out there bikes, the leather items will definitely be a necessity and you can help them greatly by providing some of these items as gifts.

Finally, the leather motorcycle jacket is not just a great item for those that ride motorcycles, they are a great gift for anyone that enjoys wearing leather jackets. They can go for the biker look if they want to or they can go with a more sophisticated look as some provide that. With so many different styles of jackets to choose from, you’ll have no problem finding the one that makes the perfect gift.

Now there are four different versions of the Harley Davidson 883 that one can consider buying. Although each model looks different they all come with the rubber mounted V Twin Evolution 883 cc engine that is powder coated. Plus they also all come with the electronic sequential port fuel injection system as well.

So what models of the Harley Davidson 883 are now available? Below we take a brief look at the models available.

1. 883 XL – Of all these models these is the cheapest one available. A brand new one can cost between $6,595 and $7,900. The main difference between this particular bike and other 883 models is that it comes with a 21 inch front laced wheel and 16 inch solid disk rear wheel.

2. 883 XL Low – This one will cost you slightly more than the first model we discuss in this article but will cost much less than the next model we discuss. With this particular model the suspension has been lowered so making the position in which you ride the machine much lower. In fact it only has ground clearance of 3.9 inches.

3. 883 Custom – This is actually the most expensive of all the models of this type of Harley Davidson motorbike. In fact you could end up spending as much as $9,555 on one of these machines. But it does have a more unique feel and look to it compared to the others.

4. 883 Iron – This is the latest model to enter the market and comes in just one colour, black. In fact this model comes with more parts blacked out than any other model offered by Harley Davidson today. So you will find that this has a more old time look to it than any of the other 883 models.
